  • Parenting and the decisions each parent is faced with

Coming to terms with parenting responsibilities has been a topic I've often heard mentioned in many conversations in this past month.

  • Mission of Foundational Learning

There is something so refreshing about 'back to the basics' moments in our lives. I have just experienced one such moment during my latest mission trip. Incidentally, the name of the organisation I worked with was the Institution for Foundational Learning (IFL).

  • Sometimes we can't understand God's working

One of the painful things in life is observing our daughter hurting herself. Those times when the parent is just out of arms-reach to save their child tripping over and crashing to the floor. A silence follows, like the peace before a storm. A huge gasp is taken before the ear piercing scream rattles the neighbourhood. Consequently, I am going to attempt to review an album that has captured my attention over the last few weeks and that is the debut effort of a relatively fresh Christian group out of Nashville known as Anthem Lights.

  • Living with an open heart

After Harold finished telling me his story he paused for several moments. I knew instantly that something had changed in his demeanour. The room once filled with laughter now felt serious and sombre. He seemed nervous and somewhat agitated; a dramatic change from the cheerful young man I had interviewed just minutes ago.

  • 'Feed Melbourne' campaign targeting hunger and food wastage

"Do you know how many poor people that could feed?" This was a question I remember often posing to my friends in my late teens and early twenties, as I started developing awareness for the world around me. In those years I visited slums in Fiji and Bangladesh and was so moved by families simply not having enough to food to feed their family. I found it hard to see people around me have so much food wastage and not even think twice about it.
