If God is in control then why is there evil?

If God is in control then why is there evil?

Atheists call this the "Christian\'s Achilles Heel". That is, "If God is all powerful and a God of providence (i.e. controls all things) then isn\'t He the author of evil?" This is a tough question and one you would or will face in its various forms. For example, someone asks you, "My child died. Why did your God of love let that happen?"
