Confessions of a children's ministry worker
Several years ago I joined the children's ministry team within our church. When I was initially asked to participate in this ministry my first reaction was NO, NO, and heck NO. .

It's not about the gifts
The silly season is in full swing and the advertisements bombarding us in the countdown to Christmas all say the same thing- buy. Buy for yourself, buy for those you love, buy for the economy. 'Buy now pay later, you're worth it, show them you care, grab a bargain.' When you consider the social and media pressure on us to buy up big in order to have a happy family Christmas it's no wonder many of us consider it a stressful time. Glossy catalogues that feature happy shiny people celebrating the

Have we forgotten about our carers?
Carers who care for a family member with a disability are the true unsung heroes who quietly and tirelessly go about their business. What I greatly admire about carers, is their demonstration of long-suffering.

Who loves trying something new? As we enter the festive season, it would be fair to say that, whether you are a Christian or not, in the western culture, some of the things we most look forward to over Christmas time include spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a plate load or two of good Christmas food.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - exercising our gifts
"OK kids, today we're gonna have tryouts for Wednesday Morning Choir", announced Mrs Southee as she stood in front of the year 3 class with her usual hands-on-hips pose. "I'm gonna go around the room and hear everyone sing 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star'. We'll just do that song because everyone knows it. Sebastian, you're first!"

Sport will be fourth down the line in the London Olympics
It is only eight months to the London Olympics. The Vancouver Winter Olympics and the New Delhi Commonwealth Games have both come and gone, and we\'ve been waiting on tender hooks for the London Olympics and before we know, it will be upon us.

All things amazing
The most enjoyable part of my job is the amount of God and his glory I get to see. My official title is delivery driver and I service the Mackay region (Sarina to Midge Point, Mackay to Eungella), so I get to see so much of the beauty around this area and this is just a small part of the world that God has created. I love to look out across the new fields of cane rising up to the mountains, that rise to the blue sky. I am in such awe of God when I see these types of things. From sunsets, to

The Means to the Way
Cultural difference is always fascinating. It's a concept I experience on a day-to-day basis. So far I have been a victim of its negative aspects and haven't really been able to take advantage of the positive. I saw this difference as a burden and was working on my accent as much as I could in order to dissipate the French twang.

Impact the world without going anywhere
Any one of us can change the world. There are right now opportunities available for all of us to bring revival into countries we have never been to and into people's lives we have not met? Is this a difference any one of us might wish to make?
