As we are all gearing up for another festive season, a series of questions arise: does Jesus even want us to celebrate His birthday each year? Who and what are we really celebrating? For many, the 'counterfeit' Christmas. .

    Throughout the centuries, this question has plagued the creative mind, inhibiting its infinite possibilities. It restricts creation to practicality, asking every creature and creation to vie for its existence on a scale of pluses, minuses and interesting points.

    Much of the correspondence my wife and I receive, as faith financed missionaries for 29 years, includes bible verses that the person writing to us feels deeply about and expresses that with us, as part of their private communication.

    Life is busy. We all know that. Add a spouse to that and it becomes very busy. Add children to that and it becomes extremely busy, if not chaotic at times. Add full time jobs, sport, ministry/community, socialising and countless other things, the 21st Century Australian lifestyle is just plain busy. Even if you don't mean to be, or you try to cut back, it just ends up being replaced by something else. I know in my family this is the case!
