Already the five Press Service International sport writers have completed one full Cycle and are in the midst of the second. Phil Hall one of the sport writers has become the sport writer editor.
There are five Weeks in each Cycle with one sport writer per week, ie, one sport article each Wednesday.
It was in 2009 that the sport writers were initiated into the Christian Today publishing program. A year before Dr Mark Tronson was invited to write a daily column for Christian Today when then editor Szeleng Chan rang.
The following year 2009 new Christian Today editor David Chang met with Dr Tronson for morning tea where David asked Mark would be add a daily sport article. That was too much, so Mark suggested he find 5 young people to write the daily sport article.
That was the beginning of the sport writer program with Christian Today and in these past 11 years there have been three young women sport writers. They were Rosie Timmins, Maria de Villiers and Grace Mathew.
Josh Hinds of Agnes Waters wrote sport for 10 years to 2019 and his sport spot was taken up by Travis Barnes of Melbourne.
Jeremy Dover and Wes Tronson have been writing sport for 11 years with David Goodwin for 5 years and Phil Hall for 3 years.
Each week the spot writers submit their articles for the Wednesday publication.
