Press Service International in conjunction with Christian Today ‘young writer ministry’ hosts quite a number of senior writers and this is for two solid reasons.
First, Christian Today Editor David Chang sought the older Over 31s to move to senior writers and this we have done. The program did not seek older faces, rather to allow those already in the system to progress.
Second, we moved Week 5 senior writers back to Week 3 (in the five week Cycle) as it was too long a gap from Week 1 to Week 5 when the senior writers articles were due.
No one wanted to have something written 6 weeks previously to be published five weeks later. It was a sensible and wisdom stratagem.
Another advantage
Another advantage of having 13 senior writers in Week 3 is that a number of them are now able to be pulled pack to Week 1 and Week 2 if there are spaces to be filled.
For example this week, Week 1 the article Dr Ross Clifford has submitted for the Winter Courses at Morling, the commencement date would have been passed in the Week 3 scheduled publishing spot. So it was brought forward to Week 1.
This is effective management. The nature of the senior writer publishing dates are not meant to be rigid but fluid to maximise the program.
