Unwrapping Christmas
Christmas is a lot like a Christmas present. It comes to us, bright, colourful, exciting and mysterious. The holiday season holds all the wonder and secrecy of an unwrapped gift. Just as you crouch down beside the tree, holding a present in your hands, you know it's good but you're just not exactly sure what it is.

Welcoming interruptions
Interruptions are inevitable. It's just the way life works. But, I keep asking myself, why is it that they come at such inopportune times? After listening to a zillion options in the phone-answering menu, someone will start talking to me and I miss the key moment only to have to redial and go through the whole thing again! 2013: Onwards and upwards
When I flicked over my calendar from 30 November to 1 December prior to heading off to church last Sunday I thought a little of the year that was (2013) - covering all the various aspects of my life.

Vampires for Jesus
At the end of last year, I was given a significant amount of book vouchers. For someone who often prefers to hang out with books rather than people, having this much to shamelessly spend on books was understandably a really exciting prospect. So, people were surprised to hear what I purchased with a decent chunk of that book money to say the least.

How to lead a funeral service
This is an incomplete guide if you are asked to take a funeral. The context: a chaplain or church leader taking a funeral for people without a relationship with God.
