And prayers were answered

And prayers were answered

My last article was essentially a prayer request for the numerous holiday camps that are run by Christian organisations across our nation. I feel it is well worth reporting back after an incredible week!.

  • 1000 Things

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3 verse 17 (emphasis added)

  • Big questions - A curious thought - An unfinished tale

A curious thought throbs with anticipation, eager to escape the confines of the mind. The desire to be resolved can hold it no longer. It shoots off, winds through labyrinthine neural pathways, rocketing along synapses, and proceeds out of the mouth.

  • Too messy to be with God today – A Solomon Islands prayer team stirred my soul

The past two weeks my family and I have been holidaying in Queensland. We had the privilege of spending four nights in accommodation where a Solomon Island team of prayer warriors have come to stay for a few months. The first evening we were invited to join the team for a prayer and worship time.

  • What is?

I think about drumming, especially drumming in front of people like in a show or at a gig, or even just practising alone. I love drumming, I am a drummer, but there is one problem with drumming that bugs me. The problem is that I\'m always not drumming. No matter how long I drum for I always end up having to get up at the end of it and stop. It stops, it is gone and I always feel like this. This fleeting feeling.

  • Directionless Mid-twenties

The last thing we need is another group of people who live in relative comfort to speak up about how life is especially hard for them. But I've had too many conversations with friends recently to not write this. It's not that life is hard for mid to late twenty year olds, but it's unexpected – and acknowledging it is an attempt to rectify that.

  • Dirty feelers and Bountiful bottoms

I am a sensitive soul. My grandmother and mother have remarked on it for as long as I can remember, naturally in hushed undertones that sound something along the lines of, "Gosh, she can be fragile", "Shhh, she'll hear you and you'll set her off!".

  • All Blacks look for perfect season

As a kiwi rugby fan, it's no surprise I'm going to applaud the selections of some new faces for the upcoming tour to Europe with a stopover in Japan. With an eye for the future (the 2019 Rugby world cup) the Japan stopover is likely more of a promotion PR stunt than a warm up, but the All Blacks will no doubt start some new players against the Japanese.

  • Pets

In Australia there are reported to be more than 33 million pets and with only 8 million households across the country this places Australia's level of pet ownership amongst one of the highest in the world.

  • Coming through a traumatic personal encounter of a young Christian with crook theology

Yesterday I introduced myself with a personal experience of how I had somehow developed an erroneous theology that my Salvation depended on what I did and not on what Jesus' did on the Cross. This outworked dramatically that I become debilitated and should have been under medical and psychological supervision.

  • A post modern time for a redefinition of 'missions'?

I still remember in college, sitting in its main chapel, and hearing the visiting speaker say that there was no such thing as a missionary in Canada. It was the first time I had heard this type of interpretation. And I was a bit shocked.

  • Never accept curry from a stranger

They say not to take candy from a stranger but they never said anything about curry puffs.
