Swastika Saint
I will call him Alfred, though he will know his name when he reads this. A man, broken but bent on being a blessing. Motivated by an unswerving love. Desiring the successes of dreams and promulgating a capacity one could only measure from a distance. When Alfred stepped into the room, people would have quivered. We did. But when he opened his mouth fear had no voice and no legs. Replaced by love, fear had retreated to a place far, far away. .

Missional movie watching
I have spoken previously of how we live in a story based culture, even though we don't tend to recognise it. I attended a conference recently on the intersection of work and faith. There were a number of prominent CEO people there, both men and women. There were two women who were invited to speak were from prominent business backgrounds. Both of them started their talks 'I want to tell you a story', and 'let me invite you on a journey'. Both started with story to draw in the crowd.

Learning to embrace my stretch marks
One by one they began to appear on my growing belly, the tiny zebra stripes of motherhood. Then almost overnight they seemed to get bigger, redder and angrier. Stretch marks.

What is man that you are mindful of him?
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? (Psalm 8 verses 3-4 ESV)

Nevertheless I want to bring you on a journey that many will encounter throughout life, a journey of idol smashing and repenting from one god to the true God. A painful albeit joyous path.

5 ways to stop procrastinating
If you have found yourself playing fetch with your cat; re-arranging your sock drawer; repeatedly assessing the contents of your fridge; falling into the world of Facebook and all the layers it has to offer with friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends; or repeatedly tailoring your 'Study Session' playlist instead of actually studying…you may in fact be a Serial Procrastinator.

But God
I still remember him so clearly, with his white hair and time-weathered creases. But the lines were gentle and his eyes soft and warm.
