Grant Gustin has confirmed that the Flashpoint arc will not last the entire third season of 'The Flash', but will have permanent repercussions.
In an interview with Kevin Smith for IMDb at Comic Con, Gustin revealed, "Flashpoint does not last all season long. But there are permanent ramifications."
The interview also touched on the decision making process Barry Allen goes through when he decided to go back and save his parents' lives in the first place, especially after Iris told him that she loved him.
"I think that sitting on that porch, having just defeated Zoom, Iris says to Barry what he's always wanted to hear, and he feels empty inside..." Gustin explains.
"As selfish as it was that Barry wanted his parents, I think it's more about 'these two speedsters took away their life because of me, and they deserve to have a chance at life. I can't do this, I need to give them that chance."
The big question now is whether Barry will be able to manipulate time in a way that allows his parent to survive.
The Flash Season 3 is set return on October 4 at 8 pm on The CW.
