If one nation prospers and another fails due to its corruption and policies—only the national borders delineate the two.
People will flee from despotic, failed states and inundate free and prosperous ones—but free nations can only accommodate a trickle of the multitudes in a world replete with corrupt and oppressive regimes.
A dystopian future
When a one-world system emerges, such as the one predicted in the book of Revelation, and it devolves into a despotic regime as the historical patterns suggest it will, there will be nowhere to flee—its rule and jurisdiction will cover the entire globe.
Even if America was to fall from its position as the pre-eminent world superpower, another nation or group of nations will rise to take its place. Such a regime will not necessarily hold to our tried and tested principles that concern civil society—principles such as liberty, representative government, limited government, equality under the law, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press etc., all these values which we take for granted today.
In fact, the Bible portends something direr, a dystopian future scenario, where Christians are targeted for extermination by the anti-Christ system for rejecting his one-world-religion and its identifying mark.
Currently there are multi-pronged efforts being undertaken to slowly but steadily deprive nations of their independence and national sovereignty, and thereby slowly incorporate them into a globalist system. This means surrendering ever-more power to foreign and unelected bureaucrats, such as those in the European Union or the United Nations, whereby they will unduly interfere in a nation's domestic affairs.
Currently we are granting foreign business interests unwarranted power to sue governments concerning policies that generate disadvantages or loss in their respective industries through trade deals—such as the current Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement. Globalisation, global interdependence, and the transfer of governmental and judicial power abroad are slowly leading us into the one-world system prophesied in the Bible.
One world, one religion
But it doesn't end there, we are also tracking the ecumenical movement, which seeks to erase or brush over theological differences between denominations and religions, to unify world religions, and perhaps one day merge worship and religious services into a common religious community around the world—ripe for the Man of Perdition to lead.
Ultimately, every sovereign nation requires borders. Porous and uncontrolled border passage/access erodes the very concept of nationhood, sovereignty, and national security that we trust our governments to protect.
Christians are to be a preserving influence in this world for morality, liberty and justice. Which is why we should be interested in preserving the sovereignty we confer to our governments and that we hold them to account as our representatives.
Christian leaders are too passive and friendly in the face of powerful enemies, spiritual and ideological, that seek to harm the flock and the nation. Pastors are failing to warn and shepherd the flock away from danger, nor will they spur them into action to preserve a future for their children.
Many of us feel we lack control and are impotent; we feel all that transpires is like clockwork in God's hands, but this is a deception the enemy uses to stifle righteous action in the face of evil. As we know, where good men do nothing, evil prevails. You only need a motivated minority to change a nation, as shown in all political and cultural revolutions.
Evil can happen to us. Millions of Christians can be slaughtered just like they were in the Soviet Union or in Armenia. In fact, Christian genocide is happening now in Iraq and Syria. It has been estimated by Bill Warner (PhD in physics) that Islam has slaughtered 250 million people since its beginning.
We are not immune. God will not protect us if we lounge around in will-full ignorance and denial. We need to wake up—Satan's children are slowly removing our civil liberties. We, as western nations, are literally the last beacon of freedom and light in a world of increasing tyranny.
If we permit the surrender of our national sovereignty in any area to unelected foreign bodies, we are quickening our demise toward the one-world system prophesied to come.
