Lego, one of the biggest toy makers in the world, has developed a large model of Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the 2016 Olympics Games, which is all set to open in just a few days.
The model is the largest ever made by the group for Latin America. According to Paul Chrzan, Lego master model builder, it took 50 Lego builders and some 2,500 hours to create the piece.
"Three different countries were involved in creating all of the icons that are seen here," he said, adding that the team created 25 different icons of Rio.
According to reports, the miniature features the Olympic rings, iconic sites in Rio including the Christ the Redeemer statue, and stadium.
Chrzan revealed that there were 10 different scales going on, as the stadium would have been much bigger, he indicated with his hands.
"So, it's everything that we could fit into the city, in a 5 meter by 6 meter space."
The structure is reportedly composed with around 953,000 lego pieces.
