Square Enix's upcoming action role-playing game, Final Fantasy 15, will fail to meet it last announced release date September 30, as the game requires further polishing and quality testing. Game director Hajime Tabata has confirmed the new information regarding the launch date.
Final Fantasy 15 is now scheduled to be released on November 29, this year.
Tabata issued a statement saying, "Since the moment the team joined started working on the project, their vision was to produce a level of realism and freedom unseen in past series".
"Unfortunately, the team requires some more time to bring out the latest version and the team is confident that the new release date would help in attaining the target". The game director also apologised for the additional delay.
In addition, Tabata explained the delay in the game is caused because the developer team wants to avoid a "Day-1" patch, so for that, they need more time. However, a video based on the game's "master version" is also expected to release on August 16.
Tabata further said, as the "Day-1" patch needs an internet connection, that is why they are not in favor to release a version without the update for all gamers.
Square Enix also stated that the delay would not have an effect on the August 30 digital release Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15, which is the CG film made on the characters of the game. However, the release dates for the disc variant and the anime Brotherhood: Final Fantasy 15, might change.
