Preparations are well underway for the Restoration Rally, slated to start Saturday afternoon (May 28) at Brisbane's northside. The stages are set, and people are ready to share what has been put on their hearts through dialogue, song, fellowship and discussion.
Pastor Jon Tapau of More Than Conquerors Church at Jaggerra Arts hall has partnered with Pass On The Fire Ministry to host the event. Pastor Tapau will have a key speaking role on the night talking about the process of reconciliation and restoration.
There are visitors travelling to the rally from across the nation and there will be a space for people to share items and testimonies.
Ordained minister Aileen Sandy is looking forward to connecting with the community in what she believes will be a mighty work of the Holy Spirit. "When the Lord told me to hand the ministry [Pass On The Fire] over to my son Sam," she explained "the gates of heaven just opened up."
"This rally; we're having people bring tents to sleep in! It's just awesome." Aileen said. "These are the end times. The Lord showed me all the little campfires all over Australia, little revivals. This is just one of those campfires."
And a campfire is just what they've planned, along with activities late into Saturday evening and all day Sunday.
There is a history with the Aboriginal people and the land in Zillmere, Brisbane. It's only fitting that the rally would be held at Koobara Kindy, one spot designated for indigenous purposes and the greater community.
The rally has been supported by local churches, community groups, government and organisations and both ministries are thankful for the interest and support from all involved.
