The latest shift in our culture's values and beliefs has been defined as 'tolerance vs intolerance', however these terms are really just a mask and bully tactic for an agenda to remove absolute truth and redefine marriage and family structure.
The feminist movement of the 60's & 70's pushed the boundaries to redefine family and femininity without consideration for God's design. Now the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and queer) community are leading a redefinition of marriage and family that has already gained frightening acceptance from society.
As the feminist movement, half a decade ago, swept through society and culture without mercy, taking all before it and shaping the future of family so now the rise of the LGBTQ agenda aims to replicate a similar course of destruction.
The LGBTQ group and its supporters are invading the education system, the political sphere, religious freedom, the media and everything else in between. Those who don't show support for their lifestyle are being called 'intolerant', 'bigots' and 'homophobic'.
Truthfully, the name calling is largely a bully tactic to gain the sympathy of society and an attempt to silence any opposing voice, because by definition the LGBTQ advocates are themselves intolerant bigots.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines bigot as: "a person who is obstinatelyor intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices;especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance"
Consider this definition in the wake of lawsuits against Christians who have stood for their religious beliefs and not participated in same sex weddings, or school curriculum's forcing religious schools (e.g. Catholic) to teach a program directly opposing their beliefs. Are these not examples of political, educational and judicial systems that will not allow Christians freedom to live out their faith, that will not tolerate our beliefs?? (And yet we live with religious freedom... LOL)
It's time to stand up!
In the face of name calling Christians need to actively speak up for the truth of God's design for family and marriage. A private members bill has just been introduced by the Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten (Australian Labour Party) and now is time to act. Yes, this isn't the first time a bill like this has been introduced, but there is growing pressure on parliament to 'keep up to the rest of the world'. (Although only 19 countries in the world have fully legalised same sex marriage.)
Not only is the pressure on from 'the rest of the world', but it's piling up against Christianity to accept sexual equality. Sadly many Christians have walked the floor, allowing homosexual pastors to lead churches and same sex marriages to be celebrated.
However, the Word of God can't be denied, it doesn't change and it is absolute truth, so what does it say about marriage??
In the beginning God created Adam and Eve, He created man and woman. He created the institution of marriage as a covenant relationship between husband and wife before Himself. Only after Adam and Eve were formed did God declare His creation very good and His design of man and woman was in His likeness.
We (man and woman/husband and wife) have been designed to showcase the image of God, we've been made to display the glory of God. In marriage we become one and together represent who God is. We ARE equal, although we have been assigned different roles (yes, sorry feminists) and have obvious differences in our physical make up but together these form a similarity to who God is.
Two men or two women can't display this, they cannot come together as one to display God's character in a way a husband and wife can, it's impossible! Marriage was designed by God in the very beginning and redefining it is removing the absolute truth of this God ordained and orchestrated concept.
I admit, in the past (and even currently) Christians have caused hurt to those who are part of the LGBTQ community. We have sinned, we have done wrong and we have messed up. We are called to love all people, without discrimination regardless of gender, sexual orientation, skin colour or religious beliefs, but we cannot encourage sexual behaviour (or any other actions) that oppose the truth of the Word of God.
So, when this ungodly behaviour becomes a battle plan to infiltrate every aspect of society we, as Christians, cannot tolerate it. Yes, I readily accept other people have different opinions and beliefs but trying to enforce these upon my children and I and upon a 'Christian' nation is where the line is drawn.
Call me a bigot, but the truth of God's Word stands. Take a stand for the Word of God with me, approach your MP, spend time in prayer and recruit others to speak up with us. Now is the time, now is the time to reclaim God's intention for marriage and family!
