The Lausanne Global Conversation focuses on some of the toughest questions facing the Church. It will help to shape Congress discussions in October; it will also continue beyond the Congress.
A collaborative partnership with major radio networks has extended the reach of the Conversation into rural communities, and into local languages. Radio networks like TWR, FEBC, UCB and HCJB are creating and disseminating special programmes to engage their listeners on these issues. Responses will be collated by the local radio stations, translated, and fed into the wider Conversation.
'This combination of radio waves and the internet brings a new moment for the Church,' said Larry Russell, Associate Director of Cape Town 2010. 'We invite you to play a part in it. The global church is facing pressing issues. As we engage with them together, under God's direction, we will strengthen one another. Let us each bring our unique experience and insight, and share the gifts Christ has given us.'
This wide-ranging conversation will address issues such as religious pluralism, ethnic conflict, urbanization and the human future. Listen in, learn from others and add your voice at www.lausanne.org/conversation.
