As a teen, Well-Being Australia chairman, Mark Tronson, now a dedicated Baptist Minister, came across the academic concept 'Publish or Perish,' in a Christian publication. The article gave a brief description on how political creeds publish their beliefs to reach the wider masses. It suggested that Christians needed to be more vigilant in distributing the salvation message of Jesus Christ.
Many years later, Mark made it his mission to create and distribute quality Christian news stories far and wide to keep the word circulating.
Mark's plans started to take shape when he scored the job working as Illawarra Hockey Association's publicity officer for local paper, The Illawarra Mercury. This media experience gave him the skills to write occasional Christian articles for the Port Kembla Baptist Church pew bulletin and The Australian Baptist.
Building his reputation as a sports writer, Mark Tronson broke into mainstream media, writing Hockey articles for big news organisations like The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and The Sydney Daily Telegraph. Eventually he was honoured with the opportunity to write feature hockey 'comment' articles at epic sporting events including the Olympics and several World Cups.
In 1982, Mark Tronson, in association with Heads of Churches, pioneered the Sports and Leisure Ministry. The knowledge and contacts he had developed during his years in sports media gave Mark the unique opportunity to start writing about his two greatest passions…..God and the philosophy of sport.
Unfortunately in 2000, a long illness ended Mark's association with the sports ministry and he and his wife Delma, established a Christian ministry focusing on athlete respite (Well-Being Australia - WBA). This new venture gave Mark the creativity and freedom to develop his 'ministry writing' and start publishing Christian articles from his WBA base.
In 2004, Mark Tronson named his Christian press group "Press Service International (PSI),'" and with the backing of philanthropist Mr Basil Sellers AM, Well-Being Australia has progressed remarkably, even diversifying into electronic media. Mark devoted six weeks to scouring the Internet for Christian news site around the world, collecting a contact data base of emails to promote 'PSI'.
The progress Mark and Delma have made with Well-Being Australia's PSI is astounding. Each Wednesday five-six Australian Christian articles are packaged for the international Christian media market. Also, each day the Australian Christian media database is delivered an Australian Christian article by email.
PSI has developed so much that Mark has employed a team of dedicated writers to help him spread the word of Jesus Christ and His Salvation.
PSI articles include; testimonies, comment pieces, philosophical and theological reflections, sports ministry, devotional articles and news items. To check out some of Mark's work visit, http://au.christiantoday.com/ or http://psi.bushorchestra.com/.
To add to his achievements, Mark has been invited to lead a team of 4-6 Christian writers at the 2012 London England Olympics. Articles will be sent around the world daily through PSI's world wide data base network, keeping Christians up to date with all the big news from the frontline!
It seems Mark Tronson is not one to perish, he most definitely took the publication route! Moreover, in addition, he's the author of 24 books.
Over these past 40 years of Christian writing he's been inspired by and received wisdom from Alan Gill AM, the retired Religious Affairs writer for the Sydney Morning Herald. Ramon Williams Australia's Religious Media (world wide distribution of Christian articles) and, Reverend The Hon. Dr Gordon Moyes AC, MLC., for theological clarity in writing for Christian media.
