Nett is a self supporting full time Sports Chaplain who was invited to her 1st Winter Olympics, but it is her 4th Olympics that she has attended.
'It is always difficult for people to understand our role at Olympics' says Nett, 'but as I have mentioned before Chaplains "trust" is the key to my role being effective. There are a lot of people athletes can't and perhaps shouldn't trust, but when they know they can trust me to keep everything they talk about confidential, it supports them. It gives them an unconditional confidante.
I am so excited to be here and to meet the Winter Athletes and I am sure it will not be without some hair-raising situations.
Please keep praying for all the Athletes and I will definitely communicate with my supporters who have helped me get here and to those who have interests in specific athletes.
The fundraising event we had at Pittwater RSL last year certainly assisted with my forward planning for my airfare, though on leaving Australia, I have to admit, I was a little short on funds.
However, first and foremost please pray for lots more snow for all the winter Olympics', says Nett.
