The chairman of the athlete executive committee won four '4' straight Long Jump competitions - and he has the greatest series of Long jumps (averaged 28 feet and 10 1/2 inches) during the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. After completing his events which included 3 world records - Carl and other Christian Olympians with him traveled to Lay Witnesses for Christ's Evening with the Olympians ....The next morning '8 of the 12' Japanese Newspapers had full page front cover color pictures of Carl, Sam and Sharon Mings saying ...''Carl say his power source if Jesus Christ!" ...Carl Lewis picture and statement was the first ever on the cover by a Christian spokesperson! It had never happened before! Carl has spoken at 1000's of meetings through the years! Sam and Sharon think of Carl as their son and admire him so.
