This television on the internet service is a ministry of Well-Being Australia. It was established last year after chairman, Mark Tronson, was interviewed on an IPTV channel in Los Angeles.
That interview has now been published in a number of places including Australia's ABC 'Making of Modern Australia' .
Returning to Australia, Mark Tronson pondered the remarkable open door that IPTV offered. The SafeWorlds IPTV network , with their missionary agenda, offered him a free IPTV channel for the Australian Missionary News.
The programs are also duplicated onto a normal web site, as is the usual practice:
As the Australian cricket chaplain, Mark Tronson set the very first interview with former Australian cricket captain and Hall of Fame member, Greg Chappell, now the Head Coach of the AIS Cricket Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. They chose subject of 'Respite'.
This was followed by 36 interviews (to date) of other prominent Christian people, their experiences covering four categories: Sport Movers, Mission Movers, Professional Movers and Media Movers.
Mark Tronson explained that the Australian Missionary News IPTV was initially funded by donations that were within the general revenue of Well-Being Australia; but as the project has now gone ahead in leaps and bounds, it now requires it own budget, met by dedicated financial gifts.
The interviews play a benevolent role in Well-Being Australia's Respite and Country Town Tour ministries; and they are well received by Christians everywhere because they represent 'ordinary people' with whom the viewers can easily identify.
