Each of these people have found themselves knocking on the Police door re-identifying themselves which is not as easy as one might think. Then there is the laborious task of having every credit card changed, your license re-issued and a dozen other identity based personal financial logistics.
It proved to be so psychologically debilitating for one such person whose identity was stolen that this person retained only a motor vehicle license and an ATM card that was only out from under lock and key when in use. Everything else was paid in cash.
But there is another question that should be asked, says M V Tronson. This is not as easy as it sounds to start afresh when your identity is stolen – which includes one's ministry, or one's occupation or career, a voluntary position.
It's precipitated by personal trauma and a decision is required as to whether one starts afresh or retreats into desperation and damaging negativities.
M V Tronson can speak from personal experience in that from 1982 for 18 years he pioneered and developed the Sports and Leisure Ministry in association with Heads of Churches, who in 2000 released him and his wife Delma due to issues of debilitating stress.
This necessitated a fresh new identity at several levels. The ministry he had lived and breathed for 18 years was gone.
Many of those who knew him were aware that his tunnel vision was very effectively focused on sports ministry. They also knew that he had energy to burn.
In his case, he turned his attention to Athlete Respite with the Basil Sellers Moruya facility on the NSW south coast and extended this in 2006 to Basil Sellers Tweed on the state's north coast.
M V Tronson's interest in art grew with the Moruya Basil Sellers Art Centre in 2003, the Eurobodalla Shire's Basil Sellers $10,000 Art Prize in 2004 and the Basil Sellers Tweed Art Studio in 2007.
His new fresh identity further developed with his press releases with PSI - Press Service International, Country Town Tour missions, the Around the Tables ministry, the Footplate Padre and Tourism ministry research and development, and now the Australian Missionary News IPTV.
In reality his ministry now covers a swathe of areas but it's taken ten years to work this through. But as he points out, he and his wife Delma were very fortunate in their fresh new identity, in so far as many don't know how to develop such opportunities.
In his ministry he have come across such people who are desperately trying to find ways to become fresh new identities. He pointed to a recent example where a former editor of a Christian publication went back into the corporate world but his passion is that of winning souls to Jesus.
Developing a fresh new identity has no set formula, and although the principles may be similar, every situation demands a fresh set of possibilities.
But the greatest fresh new identity of oneself M V Tronson says, is when a person discovers the reality of Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives!
