Chelsea meanwhile had a tough match at home to Liverpool on Sunday. Captain Terry was back after 4 weeks suspended and he opened the scoring for the home side, however a late Liverpool strike ended the match with a draw as both teams were disappointed with the end result.
The weekends other fixtures saw Stoke defeat QPR 1-0 whilst Arsenal and Fulham played out an entertaining 3-3. Southampton and Swansea played out a 1-1 draw and West Brom won away at Wigan. West Ham won 1-0 away at Newcastle in a surprise result at St James Park.
