City was unstoppable once they got started and made Rednaps men look ordinary in front of their own supporters. City is now 9 points from a possible 9 and looking extremely strong as they look to overhaul their arch enemy United this season.
Chelsea was comfortable winners at home as they defeated Norwich 3-1. Lampard was strong as he opened this season's account. Drogba however had a terrible fall and was unconscious for some time as his team mates rallied to stay in touching reach of United and City.
In other matches, Aston Villa and Wolves shared the points in the midlands derby with a 0-0 draw. Everton scored late on to defeat Blackburn at home 1-0 after Blackburn missed two penalties. Liverpool also beat local rivals Bolton 3-1 whilst Swansea and Sunderland shared the points with a goalless draw. Newcastle won 2-1 at home to a disappointing Fulham. Stoke also won away 1-0 to West Brom. Wigan got their great start to the season with a 2-0 win over QPR.
