In the First Quarterfinal and perhaps the best free flowing game, the Irish fell to a gallant Welsh side determine to wipe away their pretenders tag. Both sides moved the ball well, in fact so well that you could have mistaken them for two southern hemisphere teams.
The next game saw the English bundled out in straight sets by the flair of the French. England perhaps thought they could win based on the previous history and forgot to turn up mentally. The French threw caution to the wind and played their young guns that were fearless in both attack and defence.
The Wallabies and South Africa was perhaps the most bizarre game of rugby ever played in a World Cup. South Africa won every department except the final score. It must have been a very hollow felling in the sheds after the game, to have been so dominant and not come away with the points. Australia showed if you turn up and want to tackle hard you can win from defence.
The Next game sent a halftime shiver down the spines of New Zealand fans around the world. Down 7-6 at halftime Zealand clicked into gear to belt the Pumas 33-10.
The Semis may now be a test of which sides can get there rehab done best as players seemed to be very beaten up from all four sides. The side with "mental toughness" may just home with the cookies.
