
Manchester City also kept their fantastic start to the season going with a convincing 3-0 win at home to Wigan. City looked dominant after the international break and Dzeko again looked dangerous as City kept their 100% record in tact. Arsenal also had an important win as they beat Swansea 1-0 to get their season back on track.
Chelsea stayed in touch with a hard fought 2-1 away win at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland looked strong early on and Chelsea had a battle on however were too strong in the end to stay in touch with the early pace setters in Manchester.
There were some other interesting games as Joey Barton faced his former club that he had just left 2 weeks ago. Newcastle started well however were held to a scoreless draw as QPR looked much more equipped with their new signings. West Brom stole all 3 points in an important encounter at Norwich whilst Fulham and Blackburn had a 1-1 draw. Spurs were too strong for Wolves winning 2-0 in the midlands and Everton and Villa shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw.
