Rooney Brace Seals Win over Liverpool!

Manchester United were to strong for Liverpool after a massive build up as Suarez and Evra squared up at Old Trafford. Suarez just back after an 8 match ban did score late to give Liverpool a chance of a draw however was too little to late as United won 2-1 to go top of the table for 24 hours before Rivals Manchester City kicked off. The game was marred by controversy as Suarez and Evra didn't shake hands which infuriated United players and fans. Suarez has since apologised and and admitted fault in the incident.

Manchester City kicked off on Sunday needing a win to go back to the summit of the Premier League and they faced a tricky trip to Villa Park. Villa played poorly and City should have scored more before having to settle for a 1-0 win in the Midlands. City are now 2 points clear at the top to ensure a dramatic finish later in the year.

In other Premier League matches Everton shocked Chelsea 2-0 at Goodison, whilst Henry scored a late winner away at Sunderland in his last appearance for the club. West Brom smashed neibours Wolves 5-1 after a hat trick from Odemwingie. Blackburn won a dramatic 6 pointer over fellow strugglers QPR whilst Wigan won the north Manchester derby over Bolton 2-1.

Tottenham were on fire at White Hart Lane with a thumping 5-0 win over Newcastle. Saha scored a brace as Spurs ran away with a 3 goal lead inside 20 minutes. Norwich won a crucial match away in Wales winning 3-2 and Fulham got a much needed win as they beat Stoke 2-1.
