The stumbling block to the Heat in the East is the Defensive King Pins, the Boston Celtics. With all guns firing in the veteran side, the Celtics have defeated the Heat in the opening three appearances of the season. Schooling them in the defensive trade, the Heat may be flash but if they don't learn to play fundamental Ball they will be found wanting if they think they can make it through the Eastern division.
In the west the Lakers don't seem to be getting it all their way, the Spurs are winding back the clock to lead the entire NBA in wins. The Oklahoma Thunder has emerged as a serious contender with amazing consistency on both ends of the floor.
Apart from the major contenders there is also a number of team capable of coming through at the pointy end of the season. At this the halfway point of the season all fans will be very excited that there are so many questions yet to be answered.
