Microsoft's laptop-tablet hybrid 'Surface Pro 5' is expected to be slightly delayed and may be launched in 2017.
Speculation on the release date of the latest Surface Pro predicts the tech giant may roll out more than one Windows Surface at once.
TechAdvisor reported that a recent image from a developer revealed a display wall in Microsoft's building 88, which showcases placeholders for a Surface device with '2016' as well as three devices labelled '2017' indicating that more than one device is lined up for the following year.
Microsoft rolled out the Pro 4 in October last year, so it is unlikely that they will launch an upgraded model within 12 months from its release.
Earlier, there had been rumours claiming that a Surface Pro 5 will be announced in May and will hit shelves in June 2016, but presently both dates have passed, meaning techies will need to wait longer for the upgraded device.
According to Mobile & Apps, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to run on Intel's next-generation chipset 'Kaby Lake', and will come with NVIDIA's newly launched GPU, the 'Pascal architecture' or the AMD Polaris build.
Other rumours about the laptop-tablet hybrid include that it will have a 16 GB RAM, which is a suitable amount of space for users that engage in multitasking on their device. The gadget is also expected to have 2k or 4k resolution to be paired with the graphics for extraordinary display.
According to Techradar, the cost of 'Surface Pro 5' is expected to start at US$899 (AU$1,349) and increasing from there depending on the composition and accessories the user opts for.
