United went behind early before a Rooney free kick put the home side back on level terms, however a fantastic low drive gave West Brom all 3 points as United fell to another poor result. The result leaves the red devils only on 7 points from 6 games, and only 2 points from the relegation zone.
This result will put real pressure on David Moyes after taking on the biggest job in English football in the summer.
In Saturdays early kick off, it was one of the most anticipated fixtures in the premiership as Spurs played hosts to cross town rivals Chelsea at White Hart Lane. With Spurs real belief that they have assembled a possible championship winning side, the fans were right behind them from the onset, and deservedly went ahead early on, however a renewed Chelsea came back firing from half time, and with Mata and Torres both looking dangerous, finally put Chelsea back level with a set piece that saw captain Terry scoring a header.
The game looked to be headed to a Chelsea victory before Torres got sent off for a challenge that was hardly fair. The result was even for both and probably deserved as both teams had many chances.
Other fixtures saw Aston Villa shock Manchester City, with both teams having numerous chances it was Villa that capitalised on their chances. City should have done much better with more than 60% of possession however couldn't finish the job!!! City lost a huge chance to stay in touching distance of Arsenal, however couldn't make the most of last weeks great form as they convincingly won the derby.
Hull City won 1-0 at home to West Ham controversially however the win puts Hull into 7th and gives them a great start to the season as they are early favourites to drop straight back down this season. Southampton kept their unbelievable start going with a 2-0 home win against 2nd bottom placed Crystal Palace.
Southampton are now 4th place after winning some unlikely games such as last weeks win at Anfield. In London, Cardiff won in injury time to take all 3 points from Fulham in an entertaining affair in central London.
Saturdays late kick off Saw Arsenal go top of the table with a 2-1 win in Wales against Swansea. Ozil was again simply sublime in a match that saw Ramsy score and set up goals as Arsenal look set for a solid season after recruiting well and putting together what looks like some winning combinations.
