
Manchester United were away at QPR and had many chances to take the game away from the hosts however only scored 1 goal in the first half with a great header from Rooney. QPR were all over the place at the back and should have paid the price only for some poor finishing from the Red Devils. In the second half it was more Red traffic as Carrick scored his first goal in over 70 appearances to seal the victory at Loftus Road.
Other matches at the wrong end of the table saw Blackburn loose at home 2-1 to West Brom. Everton and Norwich shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw at Goodison whilst Fulham beat Bolton 2-0 in London. Stoke won away at Wolves 2-1 in an impressive performance and Newcastle and Swansea played out an entertaining scoreless draw.
Liverpool kept their European dream alive with a 2-0 away win at Villa Park. Bellamy lead the way to help Liverpool back into the top 6. Chelsea were disappointing as Wigan held them to a 1-1 draw in the North West. Spurs were also successful with a 1-0 win over Sunderland.
