In London, Chelsea saw their 100% record slip as they drew 0-0 in a local derby with QPR. The draw was marred with controversy as Ferdinand and Terry wouldn't shake hands due to the ongoing racial incident last season.
The weekends other fixtures saw Aston Villa get their season off to a winning start with a 2-0 win over Swansea, whilst Fulham kept their great home form with a 3-0 win over West Brom. Norwich and West Ham shared the spoils with a goalless draw while Sunderland held Liverpool to 1-1. Newcastle and Everton had an entertaining 2-2 draw while Spurs won 3-1 away at Reading.
