Manchester City ended the year with a great 4-3 win away at Norwich after some poor December results. The win kept them in touch with United as United had a 2-0 home win over the impressive West Brom. United are now 7 points clear coming into January and look great after another great performance.
In Saturday's other fixtures, Villa continued their disappointing run of results with another heavy defeat, this time losing 3-0 at home to Wigan. Swansea won 2-1 away in London to Fulham while Reading had a much needed win, beating West Ham 2-1. Stoke and Southampton played out a very entertaining 3-3 draw in the midlands whilst Spurs won away 2-1 in Sunderland.
