
It was interesting to see after the All Blacks suffered their second straight loss and surrendered the prestigious "Tri Nations" trophy; their hallways of cyber space went very quiet south of the ditch.
Perhaps it was hard to take, seeing the side they enjoy seeing win for the past three years since failing at the last World Cup yet again, there was also a sinking feeling of here we go again.
New Zealand's fever pitch before a World Cup is matched by no country, in fact no national side in any sport from any nation in the world has a winning percentage as great as the All Blacks.
Perhaps they were too shocked to be able to push the keys on the keyboard. There really was a "Silence of the Lambs".
In other great news this week, it was great to see the New York Yankees set a special record by hitting three grand slams in the one game of baseball. In 200,000 games of baseball this has never happened. I would almost go as far as saying it may take another 200,000 games before it happens again.
The NFL is now heating up with the season kickoff only a couple of weeks away, the lockout is slowly drifting from memory and this will speed up when the season starts. It's definitely an open field with at least 15 clubs having a legitimate shot at Super Bowl glory.
The only good news we are waiting for now is the NBA lockout to break, however that might be a fair way from happening just yet.
Many were shocked to see the Japanese national basketball team implode with an all in brawl against Duke University in a game that was labelled a "Goodwill" challenge. Close replays saw some very disturbing behaviour from the Japanese team. Duke University must be congratulated for the way they handled the situation and also continuing the tour.
