Walden Media's film adaptation of the popular children's novel follows the adventures of Edmund and Lucy Pevensie's return to the enchanting world of Narnia after being swallowed into a painting and find themselves aboard the Narnian Ship Dawn Treader, along with their cousin Eustice, royal friend King Caspian and a warrior mouse named Reepicheep. The perilous journey that follows brings them face to face with magical creatures and sinister enemies as they sail to reunite with the "Great Lion" Aslan.
The Chronicles of Narnia presents the adventures of the four Pevensie children as protagonists from the real world in the unfolding history of the parallel realm of Narnia, where the battle between good and evil has taken over.
Author of the seven book series C.S. Lewis, also a well known theologian and Christian apologist, did not originally plan to incorporate Christian theological concepts into his characters and storylines, instead the allegories and parallels to Biblical events occurred as he wrote the novels between 1949 and 1954.
