|PIC1|Well-Being Australia hosts a variety of ministries, the most well-established being the two Australian Institute of Sport 'athlete respite' facilities, Basil Sellers Moruya on the New South Wales south coast and Basil Sellers Tweed on the north coast.
However, there are numerous other areas in which Well-Being Australia also ministers, one of which is its Country Town Tour (CTT) program where coaches and athletes visit a rural or a regional centre as role models and mentors.
These CTT programs often involves activities such as attending sportsmen's dinners or breakfasts as well as visiting schools and youth groups and the like, all concertinaed into three or four days.
Another Well-Being Australia program is its Around the Tables ministry, which largely but not exclusively involves mission people meeting in an informal setting, whereby they might discuss freely their heartaches.
Implicit in some of these newer developments is the idea of an overarching mentoring ministry, which started specifically to cater for Christian athletes, but may expand into other areas in the future.
"I see my role, after years of experience, as not just helping the younger athletes along the way, but also to sit with other pastoral ministry leaders and talk about specific plans for mentoring the younger generation, in their own particular areas of expertise," mused M V Tronson. "This way, there will be a new generation of leaders to take the mantle of responsibility in the future."
A critical component of all Christian ministry is the 'visioning', M V Tronson claims, and he acknowledges that succeeding generations in Christian ministry require their own visions, many of which spring from existing ministry models.
This ministry excursion involves meeting quietly over coffee with church pastoral leaders so as to allow the Spirit of Christ to instill His own hand of vision upon these leaders in the areas for which WBA has been functioning. Releasing is also about vision.
"I've had this idea upon my heart for some time, that as a 57 year old, having pioneered sports ministry for 26 years, and 24 of those in cricket ministry, it is time that the Spirit of Christ's fresh smelling savor encapsulated a new generation at a local church level," M V Tronson explained.
"This forthcoming Country Town Tour to North Queensland, which includes Cairns and Atherton, therefore involves 'vision' with suggested resources to implement new ideas. It is a redirection and realignment for Well-Being Australia," M V Tronson stated optimistically.
