The Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 and the Japanese attack on Darwin on February 19th, 1942 were a mere 10 weeks apart. The Japanese used the same aircraft carriers and flight crews, and the same plan for the attack route, in that the aircraft went around their target and attacked from the south – not from the north, which may have been expected. .
