Europe: God is not finished yet
There are plenty of ways one can assess the health or otherwise of a nation, or people, or continent. There are numerous measures: economic, social, political, ideological, cultural, demographic, and so on. But on top of all these is one more which is the most important. People of faith will also gauge the spiritual condition of a people or nation. .

The Church and self-esteem
An ad in a church bulletin recently caught my attention. It was advertising an upcoming 'Self-Esteem Seminar'. Nothing unusual about that. There must be zillions of such self-help seminars being run in churches throughout the Western world. They have become a very common feature of contemporary church life.

What might this be about?
During a national debate on the role of religious counselling within the armed forces in The Netherlands, a Pentecostal denomination has claimed that they no longer regard homosexuality as an 'illness', therefore it has no need to be 'cured'; as reported by Australia\'s Religious Media recently distributed the Radio News Ecumenical News International (ENI) from Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Why marriage matters
The recent National Marriage breakfast in Canberra was a great success, with some 500 people in attendance. But if you simply relied on the mainstream media, you would not have even known that it took place. The only coverage at all about the event seems to have been about the attempt by two homosexual activists to disrupt the proceedings. More homosexual tolerance in action.

FIFA says yes to advertising but not Christians
By disciplining Brazil over their superstar players showing their commitment to Jesus with their T-Shirt \'evangelism\', FIFA, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, has caused as much controversy in world Football in 2009 as Martin Luther did in 1517 to the Holy Roman Empire.

The August \'On Track\' E-Rail magazine\'s Footplate Padre article written by Baptist minister Mark Tronson tells the story of a train that was \'over the load\', which is a railway term referring to how much weight a freight train can carry for the particular power capacity of each engine.

Telling Lies for Social Engineering
There is always one thing you can count on with the secular humanist social activists: since things like absolute truth and universal morality tend not to rate very high in their worldview, they seem to have little problem with bending the truth when it serves their purposes. Indeed, it seems to be a hallmark of these folk to make things up as they go along – all in the interests of pushing their radical social engineering agenda.

Andy Collins ordained by the church that kicked him out
The elders of the local suburban Baptist church in Sydney knocked on the front door and told Andy Collins' parents that their son was so uncontrollable that he was no longer welcome at the Sunday School, and yet 30 years later it was that same Church that Ordained him for Christian ministry.

Works of art 'sing many tunes'
Works of art have a way of singing many tunes, metaphorically speaking. Some may light up a lounge room, an office or a corporate foyer; others may be kept in secure storage, or for investment purposes; special art works may be used for therapeutic purposes; most are created (at least in part) for the act of creation, and many need to be 'traded' for financial profit, whatever their original intention.

The Need for Clarity on Terrorism in Australia
This week's arrest of a number of men who were alleged to have been plotting terrorist attacks against an Australian military base has reminded us afresh of the need for eternal vigilance against Islamist terrorism. And it has also reminded us that political correctness and anti-anti-Islamism also still still alive and well.

Crucified For Speaking the Truth
There is one thing that can be counted on with absolute certainly in this relativistic world: there is a protected species which no one even dares to cross, certainly not in the mainstream media. This group can now get away with anything, and the MSM refuses to offer a contrary point of view.

OK, So Maybe He's Not the Messiah
Politicians promise much, but often deliver little. They can make all sorts of grandiose claims while campaigning, but when elected, reality sets in, and their feet must come back down to earth. The day to day business of running a government is often light-years removed from the rhetoric and idealism which abounds prior to taking office.
