Modern 'instant' communications and the ability to contact hundreds of people (or more) at the click of a button is convenient for sending urgent messages, or even for Evangelists wanting to spread the Word of God..

  • Christian Atheism

There has been a spate of ornery and evangelistic atheists who have appeared lately, ripping into religion in general and Christianity in particular. I have written much seeking to counter their ferocious attacks, and shall continue to do so. But there is another problem with atheism, and that is the Christian variety.

  • Hockeyroos win first round at World Cup

As promised I\'m binging a number of updates of the Women\'s Hockey World Cup in Argentina and the first round in both Pools, A and B, bought no real surprises, and in particular the Hockeyroos opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Japan.

  • Succession planning is likened to making a Will

On two separate occasions it has become my lot to establish a succession plan situation and each time it reminded me of the wisdom associated with making out a Will.

  • Addressing those with a 'title'

In Australia the nature of addressing or referring to someone with a title has taken a significant change from several decades ago and it\'s most obvious, in the media.

  • The common man; uncommon leaders!

The 2010 Federal election is over and we still do not know who will form government. But what interested me were two very interesting articles in the Sydney Morning Herald, written before the election. One, from the AAP news service (Australian Associated Press) attempted to illustrate by selective anecdote that the two contenders for the Prime Ministership are very similar to the rest of us (whatever 'the rest of us' means in our very diverse Australian culture).

Each is portraying hope and hope is one of the \'big three\' according to the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 and it therefore behoves us to consider how hope might receive its enthusiastic ingredients to spring forth into willing hearts.

  • A summing up - "Resentful and Wary

Miranda Divine in her article on the $37million sexual harassment lawsuit launched against David Jones by its former publicist, Kristy Fraser-Kirk, 27 summed her with these words:

  • The War of Worldviews

H.G. Wells could write about The War of the Worlds, in which Martians and earthlings battled for supremacy. But the real battles today really come down to a war of worldviews. Competing worldviews and ideologies are battling it out, and those which prevail will determine the course of history.

  • USA top sport is in a different space

One of the US sports ministries \'Pro Athletes Outreach\' (PAO) holds annual conferences for each of the major professional sports in America and its been my privilege to have attended a number of these since the late 1980s. From these and the other study tours on sports ministry to the US I\'ve undertaken, in my view USA top sport is in a different space to Australian top sport.

  • Teddy Bears and Dolls of a life-time

Soft toys and dolls have such a long association with humans, that we probably do not know when they started. We do know, however, that they are not only toys for children, but are often sentimental objects or collectors' items for adults.
