Athletic World Championships and World Records
These Daegu Korea 2011 World Athletic Championships have not produced world records as the world of track and field were hoping might occur. Everything was set for a top meet with an expected fall of world records but alas, this has not been the outcome..

A thought for the mother of Daniel Morcombe
As a 24 year old student living on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, like most other Australians at that time, I was saddened and shocked to hear of 13 yr old Daniel Morcombe's disappearance from the side of a main road in December 2003.

Australia refugee and asylum seeker resettlement – helping hands international Australia
Ros and Ken Meyers can relate to the idea that relinquishing control of your future to the Lord can result at times, in "feelings" of uncertainty, doubt, and pointlessness when waiting on God to show himself faithful an original vision. This is their story.

A footy club's fund raising 'strippers
A Queensland footy club has created a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons. The Highfield's rugby league club in the Darling Downs district was recently criticised for organising a "porn and prawn" fund raising night. With the enticement of pornography, the Highfield's footy club had hopes of raising needed funds for the club.

Christians feeding the homeless is more than 'food for the homeless'
For the last decade Milton and Betty have gotten up in the wee hours of the morning to drive to Coolangatta to assist other like minded people in supplying food to this region's homeless population and on one such morning, I decided to join them.

Muffins
Being the father of a pre-adolescent male is not without its challenges, heartaches, joys, sorrows and adventures. As he rides an emotional, physical, social and spiritual roller coaster through his life, his Dad can only shake his head and pat him on the back and tell him, "Son, been through it all before."

A volunteer in Uganda
In 2003 I had the privilege to work in a remote rural village in Uganda. My experience in the village was a lifetime away from what my life had been like in Melbourne where I had previously been working. I expected that my five month volunteer opportunity would present me with many challenges, and indeed it did. However, the personal rewards that I gained from the experience far exceeded any expectations I had.

Hit them where it hurts. On the scoreboard
When you work really hard on a tricky problem, it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. By the time you find the answer, you've almost forgotten what the question was and why it was asked. It's easy to remind yourself of what the question was. Remembering why it was asked can be more difficult, and it's entirely possible that you were never really sure of why it was asked at all.

Thanking God for a car accident
I had a frightening car accident. The road was wet due to rain and I was turning a sharp corner near Waratah train station (Newcastle). Suddenly I found both of my left tyres on solid white lines during a tight turn. I foolishly applied the break to control the speed at that very moment, and it caused my car to skid in a remarkable fashion. It did a 180-degree spin in the middle of the sharp corner, facing the wrong way! Imagine if there was another car travelling at 70 km/h right behind me.

Weakness can become a strength
Wouldn\'t life be grand if I was absolutely perfect at everything? Nothing that got in my way, nothing that made me stumble and nothing that could prevent me from reaching my goals. Well, I would be very plain and would I\'d have no need to improve, no reason to seek help, no reason to lean on a greater love.

Yes, I use 'Facebook' for ministry
'Facebook' and other social networking sites give us access to personal details and news in a way no other technology can. Recently while I was on 'Facebook' I read an update from someone I know about their loved one being rushed to hospital. I do not remember ever holding a long conversation with this 'friend' but through ''Facebook'' I became aware of a great opportunity to minister to someone.
