I walked past the old Hobart post office in North Hobart, which is opposite the old State Cinema. I'm no expert but it's obvious to see that these older building are different. They seem to be from a time that seems like the dinosaur age for someone as recently arrived as myself.

The Quest for the perfect sleep
According to various studies, adults require about eight hours of sleep nightly, preferably during the twilight hours from 9pm to 8am. Without a quality sleep life, our conscious life is very negatively impacted on with lessened productivity, emotional balance and physical vigour.

Blessings of the poor
Recently I took a step of faith to live a simple life with very few material possessions. Leading up to this major decision in life were a series of short-term mission trips over the past five years that collectively challenged, renewed and transformed my heart for the poor and the lost. One of those life changing moments came from visiting children in the developing world, that I sponsor through an aid organisation called 'Compassion'.

Will the real church please stand up
There should be little surprise over society's moral decline, if the church is not leading from the front. As individuals and as a society we need to learn our morals from somewhere and if the Church is not an example to us we must discover these life values from another source. If this alternate source does not teach us biblical standards it is only natural for our ethics to reflect the poor teaching we have been given.
