New Year with coronavirus
The Chinese Lunar New Year is always supposed to be a special family reunion occasion. However, it’s bound to be different and difficult this year because of the coronavirus outbreak, which was largely reported a week prior to the Chinese Lunar New Year. What made it more pertinent to me was that the virus originated in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province, where I was born and brought up.

When two women were killed…
Four weeks ago a sex worker was murdered in Christchurch, presumably by her ‘client.’ He is still being tracked down. Heartfelt tributes from friends in social media to her, the mother of a young child, said how she had such a kind heart, and would do ‘a job’ in order to earn money to give to a friend who was in need, even if that meant going out on to the streets again.
