Who can forget the pictures of people standing on the roofs of their cars and houses as torrents of muddy water rushed past them?
Today, as these resilient survivors rebuild their lives, the Vision Radio Network is thrilled to be able to share their dream for a renewed and revitalised community. On 26 August, the 500th Vision radio station â€" Vision Murphys Creek 88.0 FM â€" began broadcasting from a solar-powered transmitter in this tiny community.
'We're excited to be able to provide this service to a town so badly hammered during the Queensland floods,' says Vision's CEO Ian Worby. 'Our aim is to provide hope â€" right when it's needed â€" and we're so pleased to be able to minister to people who need spiritual as well as physical assistance.'
'Vision is about Connecting Faith to Life. Our lively radio hosts provide entertainment, hope and encouragement to listeners through a positive, upbeat mix of contemporary Christian music mixed with practical chat on real life issues from respected national and international speakers. We also report on current affairs and present an hourly news service from a Christian worldview.'
