Director Al Stewart says the REFRESH conference is part of the support The Geneva Push plans to offer all assessed and approved church planters.
"Husbands and wives who plan to plant together are a team," he says.
"As well as coaching, regular training events and Australian resources, we think it's vital to help them take time out together to work on the relationship that is going to be at the heart of the churches they plant."
General Manager Scott Sanders says the two-day stay at the Vibe Hotel at Milsons Point, overlooking the Sydney Harbour was a gift The Geneva Push was happy to give.
"Ministry couples rarely get a chance to stop and reflect about what's happening in their relationship," he says.
"Serving these church planting couples is one of the most exciting things about my job. It's been helpful hearing how they've benefited from the guest speakers we've had."
The REFRESH program included Bible talks from church planter and Anglican minister Ray Galea on 'How to avoid committing adultery' and 'Knowing what to pass on'.
Husbands and wives remarked how important it was to be reminded, "… we're not immune to sexual immorality and the impact of sexual sin."
"And great to hear it from a church planter too!"
Participants also heard from Dr. John Best, the former Wallabies doctor, on the links between physical and spiritual fitness.
Successful businessman Scott Parry-Jones provided input on money-matters for ministry couples, and Keith and Sarah Condies talked about techniques for building a strong relationship.
"This has been a real blessing," said one couple planning to plant in the next two years.
"We'd like to thank everyone who worked to make the conference happen, and we're praising God for those who paid for everything."
