The gentleman was a very successful small business owner - he ran an insulation business, a travel agency, an interpreting service, a migration agency and also managed several rental properties. We're talking here about an entrepreneur.
Brendon Hills writing for the Sunday Telegraph rightly points out, that the problem was he did it all while working at his "proper job" - as a RailCorp clerk.
The gentleman was sacked after 14 years working for RailCorp when his bosses found out the extent of his moonlighting. He lost an appeal in March to the Transport Appeals Board for using his employer's time and resources to run his stable of small businesses.
Mark Tronson wants to point out the 'diligent hard work' of this gentleman (although he worked hard illegally on his businesses, while being paid by RailCorp). Mark Tronson however, points to the energy, as an illustration, of that is required to be in Christian Ministry or Mission endeavours. It is at this level of commitment to work.
This is the 'get-up-and-go' energy that mission people have in spaces.
Mark Tronson said he's delighted when he meets people with such 'hard work' initiatives and ethics – especially when those energies are directed to see others come to a personal Salvation in Jesus, and moreover, subsequently getting those new converts involved in mission activities.
If there was a gold medal for energetic, committed and dedicated hard work, Mark Tronson says, many mission people would be indisputable 'Olympic Gold Medallists'. He corrects himself, as there is a much greater Crown awaiting such diligence for the Lord.
