Well-Being Australia chairman Mark Tronson who is an official Christian Today Australia advisor explained that Christian Today approached him at the end of 2009 to develop a daily sports article and at the same time, seek out someone to join the team to promote Christian Today to the Christian community.
Five young Sports writers came on board last year and a mini-conference was held in June on the Gold Coast when Christian Today met them and it was at this mini-conference that Mark Tronson was prompted by the Holy Spirit to seek out Clayton Hinds for that Christian Today position.
Clayton and Anna Hinds served in mission in Zambia from 2006-09 returning to his former position as a National Party political advisor in Townsville and being promoted to North Queensland Chief of Staff in the latter part of 2010.
Clayton Hinds was interviewed by the Australian Missionary News IPTV which can be viewed at tv.bushorchestra.com/Media/videopages/clayton_hinds.html
Over the past few months Mark Tronson challenged Clayton Hinds to seek the Lord for this Christian Today Australia role and when he revealed they were intending to attend Morling College in Sydney for two and a half days a week in 2011, it seemed as if the pieces were fitting together.
Christian Today Australia likewise recognised Clayton Hinds' gifts, talents and calling and offered him a position for the other two and a half days – a position that is party paid and partly needing faith financial support.
His ministry is promoting Christian Today to the Christian community, writing political articles for Christian Today, maintaining his Friday Sports article and in particular utilising his administration and internet skills developed in his previous position to enhance Christian Today. It's a love job as is all Christian mission!
Another ministry role Clayton Hinds has adopted is co-ordinating the Well-Being Australia volunteer young Sports writers, taking over from Mark Tronson.
Clayton and Anna Hinds have a son, Jonty born in 2009 and live on the Morling College campus at Macquarie Park.
