These daily video emails are part of the "25 days. 25 people. 25 words" campaign. CEO Greg Clarke describes this initiative as an online experience of the surprise of Christmas. "The Bible's story of Christmas was surprising in every way… for instance, God himself appearing to unexpected people like common shepherds and astrologers. And, of course, it brought us Jesus, who was the 'friend of sinners'.
"In a similar vein, the digital advent calendar opens up a new door each day, with a surprising video behind it. In fact,it may even be a little scandalous; some of the people reading Bible passages or telling their stories will surprise you!"
In each video, words from the Bible are read, building up across December to a new experience of Jesus this Christmas.Greg Clarke continues, "You might vaguely know the Bible's story of Christmas, but I think this 25 day online experience will give it a whole new dimension."
Campaign Manager Chris Melville says that this initiative, which follows on from October's "Live Light in 25 words" church-based campaign, is for everyone. "Both believers and non-believers think Christmas is important, so let's go back to the Bible and look at the beginning of the story together."
