The Foxtail palm (Wodyetia bifurcata) looks pretty much like a Royal palm, but it's a completely different species, discovered only in 1983. It is a favourite for gardens with its lush and elegant looks. For the expert, it is distinguishable from the Royal Palm at a glance, but for the un-initiated it takes a trained eye to see the difference. www.touringaustralia.de/Trees/Wodyetia-bifurcata.php
Well-Being Australia chairman Mark Tronson who served for 17 years as the Australian cricket team chaplain recently turned 60 and as a thanksgiving to the Lord he sought from his financial support network funding for these palm trees.
Mark and Delma Tronson have lived by faith for 29 years with a support base that has witnessed many miracles in the sports ministry (1982-2000) and since within Well-Being Australia's ministries.
The funding came in to meet this beautification program for the Laguna Quays Respite facility which is another wonderful addition to the tasks already completed both inside and out.
The front veranda's lattice was repainted light green as was the front facing bearer, whereas the outside landing was painted a dark lime which gave the facility a much needed lift. This coincided with the front garden being weeded and cleaned up and given a face lift.
The Mackay Council required additional cyclone protection to the building and the bottom front step more secured. This was followed by a concrete drive way and path to the front steps was the next on the program which was completed in October and now the palm tree adds to the beautification process.
The building's internals saw a repainting of most rooms, along with the lounge room ceiling, two air conditioners put in, and many smaller repairs all of which required many man hours.
The Laguna Quays Respite facility was opened in June and already four Mission couples have visited. It is available to missionaries and pastors. It is situated on the Whitsundays mainland next to the Laguna Quays Golf Resort. Well-Being Australia provides this as a gifting along with the use of a dual cab motor vehicle.
