The first two respite facilities, Basil Sellers Moruya (Timeout in Moruya) and Basil Sellers Tweed (Timeout in the Tweed) have shown themselves to be well received since 1992 (Moruya) and 2006 (Tweed).
Athletes from the Australian Institute of Sport have been for the main part the essence of patronage and in more recent years the Moruya facility's use has been extended to a range of other charitable uses including a single mum's ministry. Many have not had a little holiday for years.
School holidays are a part of Australia's heritage, yet for many single mum's, holidays for themselves and their children have been out of the question. Basil Sellers Moruya has been hosting many of these in its benevolent ministry.
The Laguna Quays respite facility was initiated in February 2011. It required an upgrade and an intensive program was put in place to do it up, including a major refit of the laundry.
The essential upgrade program has included a repaint, many carpentry repairs while the non-essentials such as concreting the drive way, an additional toilet and floor polishing will need to wait.
Flyers for the Australian Institute of Sport, the Arts community and denominations and missions have been prepared and approved and are now in use and distributed.
Well-Being Australia chairman Mark Tronson explained that the breadth of the Laguna Quays ministry has been increased from that of athletes to include the arts community along with denominations and missions where Christian workers may need a break.
